VoiceMaster
Voice channels people create for themselves, by joining one channel.
#Overview
VoiceMaster gives everyone their own voice channel on demand. Members join the Join to Create channel, Utilities makes a new voice channel for them and moves them into it, and the channel is deleted once everyone leaves. The person who made it is its owner and can lock it, hide it, rename it, and choose who gets in.
#Getting started
Run the setup.
/voicemaster setupcreates a Voice Channels category with a Join to Create voice channel in it, and an interface text channel with the control panel already posted.Try it. Join Join to Create. You're moved into a new channel of your own.
Set the defaults, if you like. Use
/voicemaster defaultto choose what new channels are called and how many people they hold.
/voicemaster setup
Deleted the interface channel by accident? Run /voicemaster setup again. It only makes what's missing.
#Join to Create
Anyone who joins Join to Create gets a voice channel of their own and is moved into it. New channels go in the same category as Join to Create, unless you pick another one with /voicemaster category.
- One channel each. If you already have a channel and join Join to Create again, you're moved back to the one you have.
- Empty channels are deleted. When the last person leaves, the channel goes. Bots don't count, so a music bot left playing on its own doesn't keep a channel alive.
- Up to 100 at once. A server can have at most 100 of these channels open at the same time, on every plan.
#The interface
The interface is a panel with ten buttons that control the voice channel you're sitting in. Each button is an icon, and the list above the buttons says what each one does, in the same order. Its replies are only shown to you.
| Button | What it does | Same as |
|---|---|---|
| Lock | Stops anyone else joining. | /voicemaster lock |
| Unlock | Lets people join again. | /voicemaster unlock |
| Edit | Opens a form to change the name and user limit together. | /voicemaster rename and /voicemaster limit |
| Hide | Hides the channel from the channel list. | /voicemaster hide |
| Reveal | Shows the channel again. | /voicemaster reveal |
| Permit | Lets a member you pick join, even when it's locked or hidden. | /voicemaster permit |
| Reject | Removes a member you pick and stops them coming back. | /voicemaster reject |
| Information | Shows the channel's details. | /voicemaster info |
| Transfer | Gives the channel to a member you pick. | /voicemaster transfer |
| Claim | Takes over the channel when its owner has left it. | /voicemaster claim |
Use /voicemaster interface to post the panel again, in the same channel or a different one.
#Running your channel
Every owner command works on the voice channel you're in right now, so there's no channel to pick. You have to be connected to it.
- Who can use them. The channel's owner, and anyone with Manage Channels in that voice channel.
- Lock and hide close the channel to everyone, or to the role set with
/voicemaster default. Members you've permitted can still get in, and so can you. - Unlock and reveal put the channel back to what its category allows. A channel in a private category stays private.
- Reject disconnects the member if they're inside. Disconnect, which is a command only, removes them without stopping them coming back.
- Transfer only works on someone who's in the channel with you.
- Claim works for anyone in the channel once the owner isn't connected to it.
- Delete, a command only, removes the channel straight away.
- Information works for anyone in the channel. It shows the owner, how many members are in it out of the limit, whether it's locked or hidden, the bitrate, the region, when it was made, and who's permitted or rejected.
#Defaults for new channels
/voicemaster default sets what every new channel starts with. Leave out the value to put a setting back to its default.

#Good to know
- Setting VoiceMaster up needs Manage Server and Manage Channels. The owner commands can be used by anyone.
- Utilities needs Manage Channels, Manage Roles and Move Members to make channels, change who can join them, and move people in.
- If Utilities can't make a channel, because it's missing a permission or the category is full, it says why in the Join to Create channel's chat, at most once every 10 minutes.
- Discord lets a channel be renamed twice every 10 minutes. Utilities tells you how long to wait if you hit that.
- A channel can have up to 25 permitted and rejected members between them.
/voicemaster resetremoves the setup and your defaults. The channels it made stay, so delete them yourself if you don't want them.- With the prefix,
,vmand,vcare short ways to write,voicemaster.
