Autoroles
Roles every new member gets when they join.
#Overview
Autoroles are roles Utilities gives to everyone who joins your server. Use them for a Member role, a ping role, or anything else every new person should start with.
#Getting started
Move Utilities' role up. In Server Settings, drag Utilities' role above every role you want it to give out.
Add a role. Run
/autorole addand pick the role. From now on, everyone who joins gets it.Check the list. Run
/autorole listto see every autorole and how many more your plan allows.
/autorole add role:@Member /autorole list
#Which roles work
Utilities checks a role when you add it, so a role that could never be given is refused straight away. It can't use:
- @everyone, which every member already has.
- Roles managed by an integration, like another bot's own role. Discord doesn't let anyone hand these out.
- Roles equal to or higher than Utilities' own role. Move its role above them first.
#Removing autoroles
/autorole remove stops giving one role. /autorole clear removes all of them, and asks you to confirm first. Members who already have the role keep it.
#Good to know
- Bots that join don't get autoroles.
- You need both Manage Server and Manage Roles to use these commands.
- A server can keep 2 autoroles on Free, 25 on Tier 1 and 50 on Tier 2. See Premium.
- If your plan drops to a lower tier, new members only get your oldest autoroles, up to the new limit. The rest stay saved and come back when you upgrade again.
- If a role is deleted after you add it, Utilities skips it and still gives the others.
Want members to get their old roles back when they rejoin? That's Sticky Roles.
