Send
Send a message as the bot.
#Overview
/send posts a message as Utilities. It can be plain text, or it can carry your saved embeds and buttons, embeds and buttons written in place, and variables like {guild.name}.
#Getting started
Write the message. Put what you want the bot to say in the
messageoption.Pick a channel. Choose a text or announcement channel. Leave it out to send in the channel you're in.
/send message:Welcome to {guild.name}! channel:#generalWith the prefix, put the channel first and the message after it:
,send #general Welcome to {guild.name}!When it's posted, you get "Message sent to #channel".
#Embeds and buttons
A message can use the same code as the rest of the bot:
{embed:name}adds an embed you saved with/embed. See Embeds.{button:name}adds a button you saved with/button. See Buttons.- Embeds and buttons can also be written straight into the message.
/send message:Please read these first. {embed:rules} {button:verify}#Variables
Variables in the message are filled in when it's sent. User variables like {user.mention} are about you, the person who ran the command, and channel variables are about the channel the message goes to. See Variables for the full list.
#Good to know
- Permissions. You need Manage Messages. Utilities needs View Channel and Send Messages in the channel it posts to. If it can't post there, it tells you which permission is missing.
- Limits. Discord's own limits apply: 2,000 characters of text and 10 embeds per message.
- Missing names. If
{embed:name}or{button:name}doesn't match anything you've saved, nothing is sent and the bot tells you. - Inactive embeds and buttons. If your server is over its plan's limit, some saved embeds and buttons are inactive. A message that uses one isn't sent, and the bot points you to
/embed listand/button listto see which are active. See Premium.
