Autoresponders
Replies the bot sends when someone says a trigger word.
#Overview
An autoresponder watches your server's chat for a trigger, like price or how do i buy, and replies to it. The reply can be plain text, or use variables, embeds and buttons.
#Getting started
Add one. Run
/autoresponder addwith a trigger and the reply. The bot shows the autoresponder back to you so you can check it.Try it. Type the trigger in any channel the bot can see.
/autoresponder add price Everything is listed in #shop. {embed:prices}With the prefix, ,ar is a shorter way to write ,autoresponder.
#Match modes
The mode decides how a message has to match the trigger. Capital letters never matter.
| Mode | Replies when |
|---|---|
| Exact | The message is the trigger and nothing else. This is the default. |
| Includes | The trigger appears anywhere in the message. |
| Starts with | The message starts with the trigger. |
| Ends with | The message ends with the trigger. |
Pick the mode with the mode option of /autoresponder add or /autoresponder edit. A trigger can be up to 200 characters. Write {prefix} in a trigger to mean your server's prefix, and it keeps working if you change the prefix later.
#Writing the reply
A reply can be up to 6,000 characters and is written like every other message the bot sends for you. Variables about a member, like {user.mention}, mean the person who said the trigger.
Only that person is pinged. Other mentions in the reply, including roles and @everyone, do not ping, so nobody can ping a role just by typing a word.
#Copying a message into a reply
Give /autoresponder code a link to any message in your server and it gives you that message's code, embeds and buttons included. Paste the code in as the reply of an autoresponder to make it send the same message.
#Changing an autoresponder
/autoresponder editchanges the reply, the mode or both. Leave one out to keep it.- After adding or editing, the Edit response button opens the reply in a box with the current text already in it.
- The trigger itself cannot be changed. Remove the autoresponder and add it again with the new trigger.
#Good to know
- If two autoresponders match the same message, the bot sends neither and says Multiple autoresponders conflicting. Change one of the triggers or modes so only one matches.
- Messages from bots are never answered.
- Each person can set off 4 replies every 6 seconds, and the whole server 20. A server with Premium gets 12 and 60. A member's own user premium raises only their own 4 to 12. Past that, the bot stays quiet until the time is up.
- If an embed or button in the reply has been deleted, the rest of the reply is still sent.
- You can edit and remove the autoresponders you made, and anyone with Manage Server can edit and remove all of them.
/autoresponder clearremoves every one you made, after asking. - If your server has more autoresponders than its plan allows, for example after Premium ends, only the oldest ones up to your limit keep replying.
#Limits
A server can keep 25 autoresponders on Free, 250 on Tier 1 and 500 on Tier 2. See Premium.
