Sticky Roles

#Overview

Discord forgets a member's roles when they leave. Sticky roles fix that for the roles you choose: if someone who had one leaves and comes back, Utilities gives it back to them. There's no time limit, so it works whether they return an hour later or a year later.

#Getting started

1. Move Utilities' role up. Drag it above every role you want it to give back.

2. Add a role. Run /stickyroles add and pick the role you want members to keep.

3. That's it. Anyone who holds that role and later rejoins gets it back.

#How it works

Only the roles on your list are kept. A member's other roles are not, so a moderator who leaves doesn't walk back in with their moderator role unless you've made that role sticky on purpose.

Utilities keeps track as members' roles change, so it already knows what someone had by the time they leave. It starts tracking from when you add the role: someone who already had it and leaves before anything about them changes in the server may not get it back.

When someone rejoins, Utilities checks your list as it is now. A role you've since removed from the list isn't given back.

#Which roles work

The same rules as Autoroles. Utilities refuses @everyone, roles managed by an integration, and roles equal to or higher than its own.

#Good to know

• Bots don't get sticky roles back.
• You need both Manage Server and Manage Roles to use these commands.
• A server can keep 2 sticky roles on Free, 25 on Tier 1 and 50 on Tier 2. See Premium.
• If your plan drops to a lower tier, only your oldest sticky roles are given back, up to the new limit. The rest come back when you upgrade again.
• With the prefix, ,srole is a short way to write ,stickyroles.
